The Noose
“The Noose”, the theatrical “room thriller” by Patrick Hamilton, became known and loved by the public through its film adaptation by genre meter Alfred Hitchcock. The work, inspired by the true event of the murder of a 14-year-old student by his classmates in 1924, comes to remind us that man is gifted by nature with the contradiction – he is born to die, but has as his main instinct that of survival.
Two friends, driven by the desire to experience the perfect murder, murder a fellow student, then hide the body in a trunk and set up a macabre party around the Body – Holy Altar of the deceased. The guests are the victim’s father, his fiancee, her ex-boyfriend and a brilliant professor of theirs. A strange carousel-challenge with strong dialogues and deep timeless philosophical questions.
“The Noose” is again theatrically transferred to the stage of the Argo theater.
A psychological thriller that, through the glow of the celebration, feeds the absolute darkness, focusing on indifference and its effects on society as a whole and placing at the center of the reflection (of) arrogance, which dominates more and more human existence.
